August Ipsy Glam Bag 2014 Review

Hello everyone! Ready for another Ipsy glam bag review? I'm pretty excited for this month because the bag is adorable. This month's theme is Beauty Schooled, which fits perfectly with everyone preparing to go back to school.

I can't get over how cute the bag is with its orange polka dots! I see myself using it for storing makeup brushes or maybe even pencils & pens for class.

Here are the products featured in my glam bag this month. Lots of interesting, new brands & some familiar ones.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More

First product is a primer by Dr. Brandt. It happens to be tinted, but this is not visible on the skin. It seems like a more matte primer compared to ones I've tried.

I receive a primer in my glam bag almost every month, so I'm able to test out different textures & formulas. This one seems a bit subtle, as I briefly tried it & it did not entirely hide my pores.

Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Anti-Aging Lip Conditioner

I was thrilled to receive a lip balm in my bag because I've been shopping around for a reliable one. Unfortunately, this one has an orange-y flavor, which I don't care for. Since it's anti-aging, organic & contains tons of natural ingredients, I'll use it until I can find one with a better flavor.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

I get very delighted when I see an Urban Decay product in my bag. I tried this mascara once & it's amazing. I experienced no clumping or smudging for an entire day. I like the formula & the wand works well in separating the individual lashes.

Klorane Dry Shampoo

This stuff has a very powerful nozzle, so I worry about it looking too white. As long as it's blended in, it should work great for those with darker hair. I try to aim it so that it won't give my head a huge white spot. I love that it's travel sized, so now I can bring it to class & do touch ups when I wanna give my hair more volume.

J. Cat Eye Shadow in Half Naked

This color is quite pigmented & has a gorgeous coral undertone. Conveniently it comes with a mirror. I'd like to try it with a white base so the coral pigment has a little more pizzazz.

Overall Thoughts

I was very impressed this month with my glam bag. I like being introduced to a few new beauty companies & still have one or two high end surprises. The bag is something I'll get a lot of use out of & it actually seems bigger than a lot of previous glam bags.

I highly recommend subscribing to Ipsy if you haven't already! Here's my link if you wanna subscribe & receive a bag each month for only $10/month!
