September Ipsy Glam Bag 2014 Review

By 6:19 PM , , , ,

Hello everyone! I'm back with another glam bag review for the month of September. This month's bag had a little inspiration from New York Fashion Week because of its Street Style theme.

Overall, the style of the bag is pretty "dope", especially with the hardcore studs. I usually go for more colorful bags, but I could definitely find something to match this with. It's a good change of style, considering all the previous bags were very bright for spring?summer. I'm not sure how long the faux-leather will last, but it's a nice touch.

Here's an overview of all the products I received in my bag this month. The majority of the brands I recognize from previous bags.

Cailyn Tinted Lip Gloss in 09 Basic Instinct

One of the items in my glam bag is this tinted lipgloss by Cailyn. Everytime I see a lipgloss in my bag I get super annoyed. It's not that I expect Ipsy to know how much I dislike lipglosses, but my issue is that I rarely come across any lipsticks in my bag. This color is quite neutral, so perhaps I can make it work, but I just hate how lipgloss looks on me. I prefer lipstick by a long shot & I wish I recieved more of them.

NYX Eye Shadow in Dressed to Kill Fashion Victim

I use NYX eyeshadows quite often & think they work really well. There's typically a good selection of shades in their single shadows, but I guarantee I'll probably never use this color. It looks nice, but I have no use for a shimmery/sparkly grey tone. It reminds me of a starry sky or a night out on the town. It's just not me, but I guess they can't all be exactly my style.

Crown Brush C476 Crease/Shadow

I seldom receive brushes in my glam bag, so I was thrilled to receive this eye shadow brush by Crown. It's double sided, so one side is for the crease & the other side is for the rest. I was in need of a better brush for my crease & this works wonders at blending my eyeshadow, making it look natural.

Briogeo Deep Conditioning Mask

I love trying different hair masks from Ipsy & this happens to be a really good one. It continues avocado & other amazing oils that help to restore hair strength. It also smells nice, which is a bonus. My hair felt very soft after using it in the shower.

Pacifica Eye Pencil

I really like this brand & I've seen it a lot at Target. This particular pencil is dark brown, so I could use it both as an eyeliner & to darken my brows. It's plently pigmented & doesn't seem to smudge.

Overall Thoughts

This month's Ipsy bag was quite a disappointment. There wasn't a good variety of products & I probably won't even use some of them. I don't expect every month to be amazing, but this bag was just nothing special. Hopefully next month's bag will have better items. I just feel completely unimpressed by the ones I received this time.
