Marleewho Blogiversary: A Look Back on Some of My Favorite Posts

By 9:13 PM , , , , ,

Hello everyone! I can't believe it's been a whole year since I started blogging! I wanted to celebrate by throwing it back a little & looking at some favorite past posts. It's been a year full of adventures that I've done my best to incorporate on my blog.

Exactly a year ago, I was just a girl with ideas & knowledge of how the internet works. I struggled with putting myself out there, so blogging was a way to work on that while attempting to help people. I still have tons of ideas, but I am also much more confident in my direction. Here's a look back on some of the highlights of my year in blogging.

1. DIY Anti-aging Chocolate Facial Mask

Talk about a yummy facial! This definitely was a fun & easy mask to create. Since chocolate is one of my favorite foods, I thought it would be appropriate to gain some other benefits out of it. Nowadays, I save this mask for special spa occasions, but it still is one of my favorites.

2. My Beauty Essential: Green Tea

I've been using green tea in my beauty routine for years, & now more than ever I see its potency. I loved doing this post, but soon I'd like to do an update on how I incorporate green tea in my daily life because this post doesn't do it justice. It remains my favorite home remedy & not just for my skin, but also for my overall health.

3. Eeyore's Birthday in Austin 2014

I love posts that share my adventures living in Austin, Texas & this was one of the first posts to convey that. I wanted to portray my passion for different activities (such as drum circles!) This post opened a world of possibilities, in terms of sharing so many more adventures. Also, I'll hopefully be returning to Eeyore's birthday again this year & sharing it with you all!

4. Shampoo Bar & No Poo First Impression

This was the start of my journey to incorporating more natural products in my beauty routine. Starting to use shampoo bars as opposed to liquid shampoo was one of the best decisions I've ever made. It was an exciting transition from using liquid shampoo my entire life. It taught me that it's important to take risks when it comes to beauty, especially if it means a more natural & affordable lifestyle. I hope to do another update on my experience with shampoo bars very soon!

5. Back to Cincinnati Parts 1, 2 & 3

I had a blast returning to my roots & getting to share it with the blogger world. Returning home was so much more fun knowing I could create content out of it & give a little glimpse of my hometown!

6.  DIY Vintage 1920's Movie Star Costume

I had such a fun time posing as a 1920's movie star! Who doesn't need a little vintage in their life? I had to do a lot of research on the makeup techniques used by women in that time period. I also enjoyed watching tons of silent movies to prepare for this "role". I still wish some of the fashion trends of the twenties would return already!

7. DIY Natural Seaweed Facial & Hair Mask

Despite this mask being the messiest I've ever done, it's definitely one of my favorites. I love seaweed as a natural beauty remedy. It's great if you wanna feel very nautical! It's also a major plus that this mask can be used for both skin & hair. The aloe vera gel gives a cooling sensation, making it perfect for a relaxing spa treatment.

8. Fashion Tips: Why I Skip the Sales Rack

I loved doing something quite controversial for once. It almost made me feel like an investigative journalist. We are raised on the principles that it's acceptable to short yourself, as long as you're shopping for things marked down. It's time to truly think about the value of clothing & put a stop to this madness!

Looking over some of my old stuff had me very eager for this upcoming year of new content. There's so much I have planned for the future & I can't wait to share it with you guys. I'm always open to new ideas, so feel free to contact me via leaving a comment or my twitter [ @marleewho ]. Thanks for sticking around!
