My Summer Playlist
First of all, I can't believe we're already halfway through summer. I already attended orientation for school, so it feels like it's going by so fast. This month I've been exploring tons of new music on Spotify & I wanted to share some favorites with you.
1. Not Over You Chester French
Thank the heavens for whichever Spotify radio brought this amazing song into my life. It's upbeat & has a retro feel, which I seem to be gravitating toward a lot lately.
2. Water Fountain Tuneyards
Whenever I'm feeling the need boost my mood I put this song on queue. I always feel the need to dance when I hear it because it's such a fun song.
3. Yoga Janelle Monae
Speaking of fun songs, this one by the wonderful Janelle Monae always gets me going. You especially need to hear it if you're looking for a perfect workout jam to go with your cardio.
4. Exodus of the Year Royal Canoe
Just a feel-good song that is great for long road trips or hanging with friends. Royal Canoe was introduced to me by my brother who happens to have a great taste in music.
5. It's Only ODESZA (feat. Zyra)
Okay, I'll admit I started listening to this song in the Spring, but I just had to add it to my summer playlist because it's just an all-around great song. I'll be listening to it for probably another few months on top of that.
6. Fantasy Alina Baraz
Another song I discovered in springtime but haven't been able to stop listening to it since then. It's just a nice slow jam that's great for a nighttime listen.
7. Dream A Little Dream of Me The Mamas & The Papas
The summer's not complete without a few oldies (or as a refer to them on my playlist; Moldy Oldies) This song by The Mamas & the Papas is so smooth. I can't help but sing along.
8. Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time) The Delfonics
Another amazing throwback tune that'll spice up your summer nights. If you like soul music or R&B, I recommend giving this a listen. I can't remember where I found this song, but I'm so glad I did.
9. Wolf & I Oh Land
I found this band through my music-savvy brother & really started liking this song in particular. I've been overplaying it big time, but still haven't gotten tired of it.
10. Roses The Chainsmokers
I could probably listen to this song like 100 times a day because it's really that good. It's definitely the song of the summer in my opinion. It brings about so many good vibes & that's always the best kinda song.
Hope you get a chance to hear some of these songs! I'm always open to exploring new music, so let me know some of your summer faves. That's all for now!
